R-MIX allows you to record audio directly into the software on track 1 (“T1”) or track 2 (“T2”). This is useful if you have removed a vocal part from a song and would like to record your own vocals onto the song.
NOTE: To record audio into R-MIX, you will either need an external audio interface or you may use your computer's internal soundcard (if your computer has one installed). For recording quality purposes, we recommend using an audio interface connected to your computer (e.g. via USB).
-
In R-MIX software, click on "Setup" at the top of the screen.
-
Click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the "Playback Audio Device" section and select either your computer's soundcard or your connected audio interface.
-
Click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the "Recording Audio Device" section. Select either your computer's built-in soundcard the input that your audio device (e.g. microphone, guitar, etc) is connected to on your audio interface.
NOTE: If you are using a condenser microphone, be sure to turn on phantom power on the audio interface. Check the documentation of your audio interface for these instructions. -
Click on "OK".
-
Click on the T1 or T2 box on the bottom left portion of the R-MIX window. This selects the track you would like to record to.
-
Press the red record button.
-
Recording will begin.
-
Press stop icon to end recording.
That’s it! You have finished recording. You may now export the song as a WAV file to your computer if you like. The following article will guide you through the export process:
