GM-800: How to setup your expression pedal to control the volume?

To set up your external BOSS Expression pedal (EV-5/EV-30, for example) as a volume control for your GM-800, follow these steps.

You will need:

• Your GM-800 updated to the latest firmware.
• An expression pedal such as the EV-30, EV-5 or volume pedal such as the FV-500H/FV-500L.
• If not using the EV-5, you will need a TRS to TRS cable such as the BOSS - BCC-3-TRA | Interconnect Cable.

On the GM-800:

1. Press the [MENU] button.
   The MENU screen appears.
   
2. Use the [2] knob.
   The CONTROL/ASSIGN screen appears.
   
3. Press the [1] knob.
   The CONTROL FUNCTION screen appears.
   
4. Using the [SELECT] KNOB, scroll down to EXP 1 or EXP 2, depending on which EXP jack you have connected your Expression pedal.
5. Use the [2] knob to change the [FUNCTION] to SCENE PEDAL POS.
6. Use the [4] knob to set this to the current SCENE or to SYSTEM to be implemented on all SCENES.
   To save this, execute the [WRITE]/save function.
   You can now check, test and use your EV Expression pedal.
