Here’s how the settings stored in the KATANA MkII can be returned to their factory-set condition (factory reset).
NOTE: If you want to keep your current settings, please use BOSS TONE STUDIO to back them up as a LIVESET on your computer before performing a factory reset. For detailed instructions on how to do this, please refer to the "Saving a Liveset to a Computer (EXPORT TO FILE)" section in the "Using BOSS TONE STUDIO for KATANA Mk II" manual.
- Turn the power off.
* Before switching off the power, lower the volume on each of the devices in your system. - While holding down the [PANEL] button, turn the power on.
Each of the EFFECTS buttons continues blinking consecutively from the left. When the blinking stops, all of the KATANA’s settings return to the factory-set state.
* It takes approximately 30 seconds for the factory reset to be completed. Don’t turn off the power while the factory reset is in progress.
For details on the effects assigned to each knob in the factory default state, please refer to the "Effects assigned to each knob when the unit is shipped" section in the KATANA MkII Owner’s Manual.
The factory reset function will restore the system to the most recent version of the system update, instead of reverting back to version 1.0. For example, if you have already performed a system update to version 4.00, the factory reset will restore the system to its default settings while keeping version 4.00 intact. Therefore, there is no need to perform another system update.
