Gigcaster 5: How to Use Livesets

A Liveset is a group of User effect patches that you can upload/download to the Gigcaster 5. For example, if you have different streaming shows, you could create Livesets for each show. It’s also great if you play in many different scenarios, such as setlists for a band, rehearsing at home or band practice.

IMPORTANT NOTES: 

• Only User patches can be used to create Livesets. If there's a Preset patch that you would like to import into a Liveset, be sure to first save it to a User patch; then go ahead and import it from the User bank into the Liveset.
• Selecting patches within a Liveset will not change effect settings within the Gigcaster 5. Liveset patches first need to be imported from the Liveset bank into the User bank in order to be used.

1. Check that the Gigcaster 5 program version is up to date.
2. Install the Gigcaster5 GCS-5 App.

3. Before launching the app, install the Gigcaster5 GCS-5 Driver compatible with the computer's operating system.

4. Connect the Gigcaster 5 to the computer with a USB cable.
5. Launch the Gigcaster 5 app, select GCS-5 as the device and then click on OK.
6. Click on EFFECTS at the top of the screen.
   
7. Click on .
8. Name the Liveset and then select OK.
9. Select the USER effect bank. Note that Preset patches can't be used in Livesets.
   
10. Drag and drop the first User patch that you would like in the Liveset and over to the Liveset section.
    
11. "Completed!" will appear on the screen. Click on OK. The User patch will appear in the Liveset.
12. Repeat this for additional User patches that you would like in the Liveset.

1. Selecting patches within a Liveset will not change effect settings within the Gigcaster 5.
   To use a Liveset, drag and drop the effect patches within a Liveset over to the desired User patch slots. The User patch that will be replaced by the Liveset patch will turn red.
   
   Note that this will replace the existing User patch with the one dragged over from the Liveset.
   
   
2. Repeat this for additional Liveset patches that you would like to use.
3. Now select the User patches in order to use the effects.

1. Click on the  icon on the top-right of the screen.
2. Click on the drop-down menu below "SELECT LIVESET" and then select the desired Liveset.
3. Click on , select the desired location on the computer to save the file and then click on SAVE.
