The crackling may come from either your tube amp or the WAZA Tube Amp Expander. It occurs when the tube amp’s high-power signal excites resonance in circuit components in one of the units. The WAZA Tube Amp Expander uses an analog reactive load, so a small amount of such resonance can occur, and the design minimizes it as much as possible.
