When recording audio phrases on the AR-2000, there are usually portions of silence at the beginning and end of the recorded phrase. The AR-2000 can automatically search for these periods of silence and remove them. Use the following procedure to delete silence from a phrase(s):
1. Press MODE so it is lit.
2. Rotate the SELECT dial to select 2.3 Delete silence.
3. Press the SELECT dial.
NOTE: If there are no recorded phrases, the Delete silence function cannot be used.
4. Rotate the SELECT dial to select the PC card (A or B) that contains the phrase(s) you wish to edit.
5. Press the SELECT dial.
6. Rotate the SELECT dial to select the first phrase (phrase number) from which you want to delete silence.
7. Press the SELECT dial.
8. Rotate the SELECT dial to select the last phrase from which you want to delete silence.
9. Press the SELECT dial.
10. Rotate the SELECT dial to select Execute.
11. Press ENTER to delete the silent portions of the selected phrases. The display will indicate the silent portions have been deleted.
12. Press MODE to return to the previous display.
