In order for the VM-3100 to be connected to a computer, an RPC-1 PCI card would need to be installed onto a computer and the VM-3100 would connect to the RPC-1 via an R-BUS cable. These products have been out of production for some time.
Computer system compatibility will depend on the driver for the RPC-1 card. Drivers for the RPC-1 card were designed by M-Audio years ago. You may download the legacy drivers for the RPC-1 card by clicking on the link below.

Audio Interface
If you would like to pass audio from a VM-3100 to a computer in real-time, you will need to connect the left and right MASTER OUTs of the VM-3100 into the inputs of an audio interface that is compatible with your computer's current operating system. Note: MIDI is a control signal and cannot pass audio.
