S-4000 - My S4000 Digital Snake is hooked up OK, but the remote is locked up and has -- in the display. No audio is passing, even though the REAC LED's are flashing. Is the remote bad?

Turn off all the components in your S4000 system and verify that the REAC Mode Switches (the small recessed slide switches on the front panels) are set properly. The typical setup is Stage Unit = M, Front of House Unit = S, Split Unit = SP. Turn on power to all units.
