A loaded sample, as well as any edits, will be lost as soon as you turn the power off. Here's how to save a Sample to a Smart Media card, create a new Patch using the new Sample, save the new Patch to the Smart Media card and set up the MC-909 to automatically load the new Patch and Sample the next time you turn on the MC-909.
1. Press the Sample EDIT button to access the "SAMPLE EDIT" display.
2. Press F1 [SAMPLE LIST].
3. Use the VALUE dial to select the desired sample.
4. Press the WRITE button to save the sample.
5. Press F6 [SAMPLE].
6. Use the VALUE dial and the CURSOR buttons to name the sample.
7. Press F6 [WRITE].
8. Use the CURSOR buttons to select "CARD."
9. Use the VALUE dial to select Sample number.
10. Press F6 [WRITE].
11. Press F6 [EXECUTE].
To Save the Sample within a Patch use the following procedure:
1. Press F6 [SELECT].
2. Press F5 [CREATE PATCH].
3. Use the VALUE dial and the CURSOR buttons to name the Patch.
4. Press F6 [WRITE].
5. Use the CURSOR buttons to select "CARD."
6. Press F6 [WRITE].
7. Press F6 [EXECUTE].
To set up the MC-909 to automatically load the new Patch and Sample the next time you turn on the unit, use the following procedure:
1. Press MENU.
2. Press ENTER.
3. Press F4 [SAMPLING].
4. Make sure that Sample Default Load is set to ON. If not, use the CURSOR buttons and the VALUE dial to set it to ON.
5. Press F6 [SYSTEM WRITE].
6. Press EXIT.
7. Leave the SmartMedia card in the MC-909.
8. Turn the MC-909 off, then back on.
Note: The MC-909 will now attempt to load all the samples from User sample memory and from the Card into the active sample RAM. The Patches you have saved will be able to access those samples.
Note: It is highly recommended that you fully expand the RAM of the MC-909 so you have plenty of room to work with multiple samples. Your Internal RAM must be greater than the size of the Sample files on the Smart Media card and in User sample memory. If you dont have sufficient Internal RAM, this process may not load all your samples correctly, or provide space for new samples.
