Overview
Often times you will have chained MIDI devices, syncing and transmitting all sorts of note and clock data. MIDI allows up to 16 channels to choose from, creating avenues for 16 different possible paths for data to travel through.
The SBX-1 can isolate specific or all MIDI channels to be transmitted to its CV outputs. It will even let you choose different MIDI channels for the AUX and BEND CV outputs. This is useful when you have several pieces of gear chained together via MIDI, connected to the MIDI IN port of the SBX-1.
Process
- Access the parameter editing mode by following these steps: http://www.rolandus.com/support/knowledge_base/206375685
- Every "CH" parameter will specify a CV port, and let you assign a MIDI Channel to that port. The CH parameters are: [CH .C] (CV/Gate), [CH .A] (AUX), [CH .b] (BEND). Make the adjustments as per the previous steps documentation.
Conclusion
The SBX-1 can extensively configure its CV ports to reflect any kind of MIDI integration. For more information and parameter lists, please refer to the owner's manual. Below are some helpful links.
