Since the P-6 can be connected to multiple AIRA Compacts via MIDI, such as the J-6, T-8, and E-4, its default MIDI channels differ from those of other AIRA Compacts. On the P-6, the default MIDI channel is 11 for the sampler and 4 for the granular mode. This ensures that when connected, the devices do not send MIDI messages on the same channel, allowing each unit to sync without unintentionally triggering functions or sounds.
Here's how to change the MIDI channel to suit your needs.
- Press the [OCT+] (MENU) button while holding down the [SHIFT] button to access the menu.
- Use the [TEMPO/VALUE] knob to select "S.CH (Sampler MIDI Channel)" or "G.CH Granular MIDI Channel)".
- Press the [C#] (ENTER) button.
- Use the [TEMPO/VALUE] knob to select your desired channel (1-16).
- To exit the parameter settings, press the [C] (EXIT) button.
The settings are automatically saved.
