Use this procedure to restore the settings on the Roland MC-808 to their factory defaults.
Performing a Factory Reset erases all data stored in user memory. Before proceeding, use User Backup to save any data you want to keep to a CompactFlash card or to your computer via USB. For details, refer to “Backing up user data (User Backup)” in the MC-808 Owner’s Manual.
- Press [SYSTEM] to enter System mode.
- While holding down [SHIFT], press keyboard pad [16].
The SYSTEM UTILITY screen appears. - Press CURSOR [◀] or [▶] to select “Factory Reset.”

Press [ENTER].
A confirmation message appears.To cancel the Factory Reset, press [EXIT].

Press [ENTER] again to execute the Factory Reset.
Note: Never turn off the power while the Factory Reset is in progress. Doing so may damage the contents of memory.When “Please Power Off” appears in the display, turn the power off, and then turn it on again.
