The Roland P-6 has two separate quantize functions: Rec Quantize and Play Quantize.
- Rec Quantize aligns notes to steps as you record them in real time. Hold [SHIFT] and press the [●] (QUANTIZE) button to turn it on ("On" appears on the display). Micro-timing is recorded as "0" for all notes entered while this is on.
- Play Quantize aligns notes to steps during playback, not recording. It is enabled or disabled per sample pad, applies to the currently selected pattern, and is saved with that pattern. The Quantize Timing parameter (in the [MENU]) sets whether notes are aligned to the current step or the next step.
Note: The Quantize Timing parameter only affects Play Quantize. It does not apply to Rec Quantize.
