SP-303: How do I initialize the internal memory?

To initialize the internal memory of the SP-303, follow the steps below.

Note:
The factory-supplied samples and patterns cannot be restored.

You cannot initialize the internal memory while the SP-303's memory protection is turned on (while "Prt" is displayed). To disable the protection, turn on the power while holding down [CANCEL].

1. While holding down [CANCEL], [REMAIN], and [DEL], turn on the POWER switch.
   "ini" appears in the display, and [REC] blinks.

   To cancel, simply turn off the power without making any changes.

2. Press [REC].
   [REC] lights up, and the dots in the display blink.

   During the initialization process, all Pads from [1] through [8] will at first light up, then go out one by one (starting with [1]), indicating the progress of the initialization.

   When the initialization has been completed, [REC] lights go out, and the unit will be placed in its normal powerup default status.

This operation does not format the memory card. To format a memory card, refer to "Initializing Memory Cards (Format)" in the SP-303 Owner's Manual.
