The Roland AIRA Compact E-4 can be connected via MIDI to other AIRA Compact units, such as the J-6, T-8, and S-1. Each model ships with a different default MIDI channel so that connected units do not respond to the same MIDI messages when synced together. On the E-4, the default MIDI channel is 3.
To change the MIDI channel:
- Press the [AUTO PITCH], [HARMONY], and [VOCODER] buttons at the same time to enter menu mode.
- Turn the [SCATTER] dial to set the desired MIDI channel (Ch.1–Ch.16).
- Press the [AUTO PITCH], [HARMONY], and [VOCODER] buttons at the same time to exit menu mode.
