MC-707: Formatting an SD Card

Before using an SD card in the MC-707, it should be formatted first. Here's how:

CAUTION: Formatting the SD card permanently erases any and all data that may be on the card. Be sure to backup any important information before formatting.

1. Remove the screws of the SD card protector (rear panel).
   The SD card protector is fastened with screws. To remove the card protector, use a Philips screwdriver to remove the screws.
2. Replace the SD card and attach the SD card protector if necessary.
   
   While the screen shows “Executing,” never turn off the power or remove the SD card.
3. Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press the [KNOB ASSIGN] button.
   The UTILITY screen appears.
   
4. Use the cursor [<] [>] buttons to select “FORMAT,” and then press the [ENTER] button.
   A confirmation message appears.
   
5. Use the cursor [<] [>] buttons to select “OK,” and then press the [ENTER] button.
   The SD card is initialized.
   If you decide to cancel, use the cursor [<] [>] buttons to select “CANCEL,” and then press the [ENTER] button.
