To back up your TR-8S data, ensure you have an SD card (sold separately) formatted using the TR-8S itself. For formatting instructions, refer to the related articles: “The message 'SDCard NotReady!' appears when I try to use the SD card” or “Formatting an SD Card.”
Please note that the backup will not include any Patterns or Kits currently being edited, nor any unsaved system settings. Therefore, perform the WRITE operation on the TR-8S to save these settings before initiating the backup.
- Insert the SD card into the TR-8S/6S.
- Press the [UTILITY] button to make it light.
The UTILITY screen appears. - Use the [VALUE] knob to select “UTILITY: Backup.”
- The BACKUP:NAME screen appears. - Press the [ENTER] button.
The BACKUP:NAME screen appears.
If a backup file already exists, the BACKUP:SELECT screen appears.
To overwrite-save, select the existing backup file and press the [ENTER] button.
If you select Save As and press the [ENTER] button, the BACKUP:NAME screen appears. - Edit the name if necessary.
- When you’ve finished inputting characters, press the [ENTER] button.
A confirmation message appears. - To execute, use the [VALUE] knob to select “OK,” and press the [ENTER] button.
If you decide to cancel, use the [VALUE] knob to select “Cancel,” and then press the [ENTER] button.
