Yes. You can connect an external MIDI controller to the MIDI IN jack or the USB EXTERNAL DEVICE (USB A) port on the rear panel of the TR-1000. This allows you to trigger the internal sound engine using the connected keyboard or pads.
Note: A MIDI controller that operates with a generic driver can be connected to the USB EXTERNAL DEVICE port.
