File format errors typically occur when the customer attempts to install the Zenology version of an expansion, instead of using the Zen Core compatible version. They have the same name, and appear identical to the end user, but one works and the other doesn't.
The "good", i.e. Zen Core version is the one that gets downloaded to the computer, to a location of the users choosing. We suggest to always use the Desktop, so it's easy to find, but some users will do a search of their hard drive and they find the Zenology one and (mistakenly) use that one. It's important that they put ONLY the SDZ file into ROLAND/SOUND on the SD card.
For reference, here's our basic steps to installing Zencore packs tot he MC-101.
- Download the SDZ to an MC-101 formatted SD card
- Place the .sdz file in the ROLAND/SOUND folder
- Insert the SD card in the MC-101
- Power up the MC-101
- Press Track Sel 2 <----CANNOT BE TRACK SEL 1
- Press NOTE
- Press the VALUE knob
- Rotate the VALUE knob to BROWSER: SOUND FILE
