TR-8S, TR-6S: What should I check if TR-EDITOR does not recognize the device? – Roland Corporation

If TR-EDITOR does not recognize the Roland TR-8S or TR-6S, check the following four points.

USB cable
Use a USB cable that supports data transfer. The device is not recognized with a charge-only cable.
USB driver
- Windows 10/11: The driver is installed automatically via the Internet. Connect the TR-8S or TR-6S to your computer and wait for a while.
- macOS: Download the driver and install it manually.
System program
Update the system program of the TR-8S or TR-6S to the latest version. The download page explains how to check the current version.
Administrator privileges (Windows)
Right-click “TR Editor” and select “Run as administrator.”
