When multiple E-4 units are connected via USB to the same computer and are also linked to each other through the MIX IN/OUT jacks, a humming noise can occur due to a ground loop. This happens when there is more than one path to ground, and it is not an issue specific to the E-4. To check this, disconnect the MIX IN/OUT jacks between the units and see if the noise stops.
