The SP-404MK2 has two MIDI modes: "MIDI Mode A" and "MIDI Mode B". The note mapping differs depending on the selected mode. Refer to the MIDI note map in the SP-404MK2 Reference Manual for details.
The two MIDI modes are as follows.
- MIDI Mode A: Each bank (A–J) is assigned to a separate MIDI channel (Ch1–Ch10).
- MIDI Mode B: MIDI channel 1 controls banks A–E and MIDI channel 2 controls banks F–J. Note number assignments and MIDI channels can be offset in the utility menu.
